The Seneca Diabetes Foundation has established the Seneca Gaming Corporation Scholarship to assist a Seneca Nation student pursuing a college or university degree in the health or social services professions. It is the hope of the Seneca Diabetes Foundation that the student receiving this scholarship will use his or her education and training to benefit the Seneca people, especially in regard to the fight against diabetes, which affects approximately 50 percent of the population.
Awarding the Seneca Gaming Corporation Scholarship will be based primarily on the student’s financial need, but also on involvement in community and cultural activities, with a focus on volunteerism and a goal to improve the quality of life for the Seneca people.
The Seneca Gaming Corporation Scholarship in the amount of $5,000 annually will be awarded to a Seneca student who embodies those qualities.
