The Seneca Diabetes Foundation has established the Barry and Deanna Snyder, Sr. Chairman’s Scholarship to assist a Seneca Nation student pursuing a college or university degree in the health or social services professions. It is the hope of the Seneca Diabetes Foundation that the student receiving this scholarship will use his or her education and training to benefit the Seneca people, especially in regard to the fight against diabetes, which affects approximately 50 percent of the population.
Awarding the Chairman’s Scholarship will be based primarily on the student’s financial need, but also on involvement in community and cultural activities, as well as personal assets such as fortitude, leadership, integrity and a focus on improving the quality of life for the Seneca people.
The Barry and Deanna Snyder, Sr. Scholarship in the amount of $10,000 over the course of two years will be awarded to a Seneca student who embodies those qualities.
