SENECA DIABETES FOUNDATION TO HOST INDEPENDENT HEALTH CHAIRMAN’S BALL 2006

Chairman Barry E. Snyder, Sr. and Mrs. Snyder Honorary Chairs

The Seneca Diabetes Foundation will host the Independent Health Chairman’s Ball on Saturday, February 11 at the Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel, Niagara Falls, NY.  The black-tie event will be held in the Seneca Events Center in the new resort and will include a silent auction featuring national sports memorabilia.  The event begins at 6:00 p.m.

Honorary Chairpersons for the event are Foundation Chairman Barry E. Snyder, Sr. and his wife Deanna Snyder. The event is co-chaired by Seneca Nation Treasurer Maurice John and his wife Karen, Foundation Finance Chairman Michael R. Militello and Community Chairperson Independent Health President and CEO Michael W. Cropp, M.D.  American Diabetes Association CEO Lynn Nicholas is the guest speaker.

The gala evening of sophisticated hospitality and entertainment will feature food by Seneca Niagara Casino’s renowned chefs, and entertainment by the Jimmy Tudini Big Band featuring Bobby Militello. The evening will feature a special Seneca performance by the Rising Eagle Dancers.

“On behalf of the Seneca Diabetes Foundation, please join us for an evening of gala entertainment in our crusade to find a cure for diabetes, a disease that does not distinguish between race or ethnic background and disproportionately affects 50 percent of Native Americans,” said Barry E. Snyder, Sr. “Together we will make a difference in the fight against diabetes now and for future generations.”

Money raised at this event will allow the Foundation to continue its mission to provide educational opportunities, prevention awareness and fund research to improve the lives of Seneca Nation Members affected by diabetes as well as other initiatives in partnership with the American Diabetes Association (ADA). The Seneca Diabetes Foundation surpassed its first year goal of raising $250,000 in private funds.
