Honorary Chairpersons for the event are Foundation Chairman Barry E. Snyder, Sr. and his wife Deanna Snyder. The event is co-chaired by Seneca Nation Treasurer Maurice John and his wife Karen, Foundation Finance Chairman Michael R. Militello and Community Chairperson Independent Health President and CEO Michael W. Cropp, M.D. American Diabetes Association CEO Lynn Nicholas was the guest speaker.
At its first Chairman's Ball 2006, the Seneca Diabetes Foundation unveiled their newly formed endowed scholarship program. Scholarship Programs will allow Seneca Nation members and families to pursue their college degree in the fields of medical health or social services professions.
Independent Health Foundation has committed to an investment of $500,000 in educational services, community outreach, health and wellness programs, and sponsorships over the next three years to help the Seneca Nation of Indians and the Seneca Diabetes Foundation develop and implement a comprehensive and collaborative effort to assist in the prevention, control and care of diabetes in the Seneca community.
